Director's Message

When I meet a student for the first time, I ask them one question before anything else: "Why do you want to become a doctor?"

You'd be surprised how many of them pause. Some say it's their parents' dream. Some say they've wanted it since they lost a grandparent to a preventable illness. Some just shrug and say, "I don't know, I just do." Whatever the answer, I've learned that behind every one of these students is a family that has saved, sacrificed, and hoped for years to get them here.

That's the weight I carry every single day at Overseas Medical Study.

I started this consultancy because I saw too many capable students give up on medicine simply because they didn't get a seat in India — not because they lacked the ability, but because the system only has so many seats to give. And worse, I saw families get taken advantage of by agents who cared more about their commission than the student's future. That never sat right with me.

So we built something different. A place where every recommendation is based on what's actually right for the student — not what pays us the most. If a country or college isn't the right fit for someone's budget, goals, or comfort, we say so, even if it means losing that admission. We'd rather have a smaller number of successful, satisfied students than a large number of confused ones.

Over the years, this approach has taken us further than I ever expected — from a small office on Boring Road to a team that has now guided over 1,500 students into medical colleges across Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, the Philippines, and beyond. But the numbers were never the point. What matters to me is the phone call I get years later from a student who's now practicing medicine, thanking us for a decision we helped them make when they were 18 and unsure of everything.

To every student and parent reading this: I know this decision feels big, because it is. Studying medicine abroad means trusting people you've just met with one of the most important choices of your life. I don't take that trust lightly, and neither does my team.
